Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer among women worldwide. More than 94% of deaths attributed to it occur in low- and middle-income countries.
In West Africa, it is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women.
Nearly all cases of cervical cancer are linked to infection with human papillomavirus (HPV). Women living with HIV are particularly vulnerable to these persistent infections and are six times more likely to develop cervical cancer.
Solthis aligns its work with the WHO’s global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem, particularly through the 90-70-90 targets for vaccination, screening, and treatment.
